RHO NY Episode 6 Recap

The Real Housewives of New York returned Thursday night for another hour of drama and bickering.  The entire episode pretty much evolved around the cast mates (except Luann) attempts to rebuild the friendship between ex-BFF’s Jill Zarin and Bethenny Frankel.

The episode started with Ramona and Bethenny taking a walk (which Bethenny referred to as “hell on water”) on the Brooklyn Bridge.  It started out good, but things turned sour when Ramona told Bethenny (who was VERY emotional) that she is a press monitor.  They continued to go back and forth saying mean things to each other.  Ramona took it too far and told Bethenny that she didn’t have any friends, all she had was Jason and that she would probably mess that up. Of course Bethenny got upset and Ramona eventually apologized and told her that she was only being honest.

While Kelly struggled to find fashionable people in the streets of NYC, Luann planned a fundraiser/cocktail party to help donate clothes to a trendy second-hand shop.

Jill and Luann have a sleep-over (wait how old are they?), Luann shared her ideas about the fundraiser, while Jill bragged complained that Saks had sent her a diamond card.

The conversation eventually got on the subject of Jill and Bethenny and Jill expressed her disdain about Kelly and Bethenny’s new friendship.  She claimed that she didn’t “like hypocrites” and that Kelly better choose between Team Bethenny and Team Jill.

Bethenny, Kelly, Ramona and Alex got together to continue plans for the Brooklyn Fashion event.  Before Kelly and Ramona arrive; Alex has a heart-to-heart with Bethenny.  Bethenny, who was very emotional, claimed that she was taking a trip to LA to see her estranged father.  It seemed like there was more to her breakdown, and Alex had the perfect idea (or so she thought).

Jill visits Alex at her house and she tells Jill all about the plans for the Brooklyn fashion event.  But before Jill could get involved with the event, she asked if Bethenny was included.  That’s when Alex took the opportunity to try and encourage Jill to reach out to Bethenny and rebuild the friendship.  Of course, Jill was unmoved and claimed that Bethenny was too wrapped up with making money at any cost, blah, blah, blah.  Alex let it go, but Ramona still wanted to give it one more try…

Ramona pretty much set up a meeting with Bethenny and Jill, the only thing is that Jill (and her bodyguard Luann) weren’t aware.  So while Jill and Luann were hanging out at Ramona’s place, a tired and exhausted Bethenny showed up in an attempt to settle the score. Of course Jill punked out and said she felt ambushed and sabotaged.  (Seriously?) Bethenny really tried, and Jill just kept pushing her away claiming, “I’m not ready.”   Bethenny practically begged her to sit and talk with her.

During their brief conversation, the two rehashed their issues.  Bethenny told her that, it was impossible to be a good friend to her; because you’re always gonna fail. Even though Bethenny was very emotional, Jill remained cold and refused to show any signs of compassion.  Bethenny really, really, tried to reconcile but Jill insists that she cannot have that type of toxicity in her life.  Unfortunately, the conversation was broken up because Jill’s bodyguard (Luann) swooped to save her new BFF from all the drama.

Bethenny leaves in tears and Jill and Luann gang up on Ramona for setting up the meeting.  The Ice Queen (Jill) eventually begins to melt and breaks down into the arms of Luann.

That goes to show that she does care. Jill has gotten into arguments with just about every housewife, but she refuses to makeup with the housewife that was closest to her.  Is it jealousy?  Or is she upset because Bethenny doesn’t need her anymore.

Coming up next week: Bethenny finds out she’s preggo and Ramona walks down the runway at the fashion show looking like a robot.  Oh, and of course there will be another catfight.
